Living in the bay area, you have access to tons of 5ks, 10s, full and half marathons, tris, not to mention a plethora of other kinds of events. Within the CrossFit community, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in events - both competitive and non competitive alike. In fact, once you decide to put yourself out there, the most difficult thing might be picking which event you are want to do. We talk a lot about the benefits of competitions, trying new things, and putting yourself out there... that is one reason many tried CrossFit in the first place. To help motivate, here is just a sampling of the events going on this fall. Pick one or two and go for it!

UB Hosted Events

There are more to come, but here is a sneak peak at the events we are hosting from now through Nov. 1st.

  • Fight Gone Bad- the Fight Gone Bad fundraiser might have been canceled for CrossFit HQ, but we at UB still have got the fighting spirit. Join us Saturday, September 22nd for a fight gone bad fundraiser for a local charity - Rubicon Programs. More news to come Monday.
  • UB Open- come try your hand at an oly competition, watch some great demonstrations of olympic lifting strength, or come support team UB hosting their first meet on Sunday, September 23rd. If you are interested in registering to lift, spaces are limited, and you should register now. We will also be looking for volunteers. If you are interested, contact me!
  • Barbell for Boobs- In addition to our Fight Gone Bad Efforts, we will also be hosting Woman's Week - a week of Girl's WODs that will culminate in the epic WOD, Grace. We will be raising money to help support the efforts of Barbell for Boobs with Grace as the final finale to the week of Girl WOD Power. This will go down Oct. 22 - Oct. 27.
  • Oktober Throw Down- UB vs. SFCF in a costumed throwdown. More details to come!
